Orangeries
What is an Orangery?
An Orangery is very similar to a conservatory, but with the additional brickwork look. There is also a slightly different roof design.
It is essentially an extension to your home – and is excellent way of gaining an extra beautiful room. For those who would prefer the extra light, a conventional Conservatory roof can be used. For those who prefer the feel, of a room with less light, a flat roof can be installed with or without a roof lantern. A stunning look can be achieved by installing bi-folding or tri-folding doors etc, allowing the maximum amount of fresh air into you property. The extra room can be used for many things, gym, playroom for the children, lounge or even a new kitchen, the options are endless it’s completely up to you. There are a few differences with regards to the design, and materials used in both conservatory’s and orangery’s.
Whilst they offer more living space, and it’s an alternative to moving to a new property or having a more significant and costly home extension. The beautiful plastered ceilings will give you the opportunity to add ambiance/mood lighting.
Orangery’s are typically warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. This allows you to use the room in comfort all year round.
An orangery traditionally has:
A Stunning roof lantern rather than a fully glazed roof.
More brickwork or solid structure than a conservatory
More in common with an extension of a home.
Less glass than a conservatory.
